Fall Adult Classes
Mondays are for less-experienced dancers. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or have less than a year or so of experience, this is for you! We cover flamenco fundamentals without the pressure of learning or remembering choreography.
Wednesdays are for dancers with some significant flamenco experience.
Both days will feature a 30 minute RHYTHM CIRCLE class where we learn to improvise in a traditional circle, playing palmas (handclaps), giving jaleo (cheers), and dancing patadas (mini solos). No matter your level, this is one of the best ways to become more fluent in the flamenco form.

Choreographers in Conversation
Join choreographers Alice Blumenfeld and Felise Bagley for an intimate Zoom conversation moderated by flamenco scholar Amy Schofield. Together, we’ll dive into the creative process behind Ni más / ni menos, exploring how Felise’s contemporary dance background and Alice’s flamenco expertise intersect to shape this groundbreaking new work.
Attendees will gain behind-the-scenes insight into the themes, inspirations, and collaborative methods driving the piece — from shared movement generation to the blending of distinct aesthetics into one unified voice. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions directly, making this an interactive exchange about the art of making dance across traditions.
Don’t miss this rare chance to witness how collaboration fuels innovation in performance.
Please note: automated closed captions of the talk will be available live on zoom.

Ni más / ni menos
What happens when invisible fault lines shift beneath our feet? Ni más / ni menos is a bold new interdisciplinary performance that explores the struggle for balance in an increasingly fractured world.
Featuring original music by internationally acclaimed composer and multi-instrumentalist Adam Ben Ezra, this stripped-down, emotionally raw work builds on the critically praised A Periplum. It continues the innovative collaboration between Felise Bagley, celebrated contemporary dancer and founding member of GroundWorks DanceTheater, and Alice Lawhorn, a national leader in flamenco’s evolution. Along with the duo’s choreography. the work features a new piece by Sevilla-based Cristina Hall, Abrepaso’s first outside commission.
Together, the artists of Ni más / ni menos blend perspectives for work that is rooted, but not bound. Free of stereotypes. Stark, intimate, and electric. Their shared choreographic language blurs the lines between forms, bringing the tension and tenderness of real human dialogue to life through movement and sound.
Ni más / ni menos invites audiences into a world where balance is never still, where the push and pull of internal and external forces reveals the power of presence, communication, and surrender.
Don't miss this one-of-a-kind performance. Rooted in flamenco, it’s live music and dance like you’ve never seen—or felt—before.
