Join us for an afternoon that celebrates the arrival of Spring as if we were in Spain! There will be live dance performances by Abrepaso’s community performance group, En Camino, our children’s classes from the Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center, along with dance and music classes, free food, craft tables, and more!
No need to register, just show up! Stay for one event or stay the whole afternoon!
Schedule of events:
-Food and craft table open through the whole event.
-Performances at the top of every hour followed by mini lessons and chances for everyone to participate in dancing/music.
-Stay for one event or all!
2 - 2:30pm - performances by En Camino and a chance to dance Sevillanas with live music
2:30 - 3pm - short Sevillanas lesson followed by Sevillanas open dance floor with a great selection of songs by La Romera. We’ll wrap up this half hour with a Sevillanas competition!
3 - 3:15pm - performances by kids and teens flamenco from Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center with special music by Cleveland Classical Guitar
3:15 - 3:45pm - flamenco rhythm lesson and circle with cajóns, tambourines, clapping, and dancing
3:45pm - 4pm - flamenco fashion competition (get those outfits ready!)
4 - 4:30pm - more performances by En Camino and more chances to dance Sevillanas
4:30 - 5pm - mini lesson and open floor rumba flamenca dancing
